After missing 13 games to repair a broken bone in his right foot, Flyers star defensemen and comedian Chris Pronger will return to the lineup tonight when the team faces off with the dismal Ottawa Senators.
Pronger missed 13 games in all, and the Flyers (30-11-5) went 9-4 in that stretch . The team is 7-1 in the month of January. Thus, it’s safe to say that Pronger’s absence hasn’t exactly hurt them, but his return will undoubtedly help.
You can thank the Flyers depth at defense for picking up the slack in the big man’s absence. Oskars Bartulis and the returning Matt Walker both stepped in and played well enough to make up for Pronger. Walker seemingly made it back at the right time after undergoing right hip surgery a month ago.
